More updates on the way!

Welcome!

During the summer of 2005, I participated in the University of Kentucky’s study abroad program through the Japan Studies Department. It was a great experience and enabled me to travel from Hokkaido to Kyushu, stopping at all kinds of interesting places both on the tourist’s greatest hits list and buried off the side roads. I also got to live and attend school (briefly) in Yatsushiro, Kyushu. Tons of thanks to Prof. Karan of UK and Prof. Todd Stradford of UW Platteville for making it all possible. And additional thanks go out to Megh Morrison, my partner in crime on the trip and person responsible for some of the best photos on this site.

This website attempts to chronicle some of my adventures vis-à-vis photos, omiyage (souvenirs), excessive lists of links, and more photos. My hopes are that this site can provide some information to would-be travelers or other students participating in the program. While this site is currently a work in progress, my goal is to make frequent updates and hopefully have it fully functioning by the end of the summer.

About Me: I am a recent graduate of the University of Kentucky. I have a BA in Political Science and a minor in Japan Studies. My interests are in foreign relations, travel, Japanese pop culture, collecting Pez, and caring for my cats as though they were my children.
